Troyce Ray Frazier

May 20, 1944 — August 13, 2024

North Richland Hills

On the morning of August 13, 2024, Troyce ‘Ray’ Frazier, of North Richland Hills, TX, passed away peacefully at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, TX, at the age of 80.

Ray was born on May 20th, 1944 in Baird, TX, to Helen Maxine and Troyce Tinsley Frazier. Ray attended Judson High School in Longview, TX. In 1964 he was honorably discharged from the United States Army after a brief time of service in Fort Polk, LA. Ray entered the transportation field and spent 37 years working for Central Freight Lines. Before recent health challenges, Ray worked alongside his wife, Jerree, at the Tarrant County Elections Department, where he made many friends.

Ray was a loving husband, father, brother and friend with a quick wit and jovial sense of humor. He met the love of his life, Jerree, on a canoe trip in the early 80’s. They later married and blended two families into one. Ray nurtured her children as if they were is own. Their romance continued for more than 40 years making cherished memories with their blended family.

Ray was a lover of nature, books, photography and computers. When his children were young, Ray could often be found loading them up for brief hiking or camping adventures around Texas. He enjoyed travel, camera always in hand, often making short road trips take twice as long as he insisted on stopping to capture photos of the perfect sunset or rugged old barn. In the days when desktop computers were first becoming popular, he could be found buried in books teaching himself how to write programs and build systems. Ray was always reading in his spare time, with favorite authors to include Louis L’Amour and James Patterson.

Ray had a heart for serving the Lord. He was a member of Gateway Church in North Richland Hills, TX, where he served as a Deacon and participated in groups such as Prime Timers and the Gateway Prison Ministry. Ray also dedicated time to the North Texas National Day of Prayer.

Ray was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Michelle Withem, his sisters, Helen, Susan and Rebekah and his brother, John Michael. He is survived by his wife, Jerree Denise Frazier; his daughters Jennifer Denise (Darran) Gabbert and Jennifer Dawn Bernstein; his son Charles ‘Chuck’ Hice; his son-in-law William Withem; his four grandchildren Nicholas and Olivia Withem and Jacob (Jennifer) and Caleb Gabbert; his sister Susan Welch; nieces Gabriella Rash and Cyndy Konrady
