Ursel Riggs

October 6, 1934 — December 28, 2018

Ursel Lynn Riggs

Ursel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 28, 2018 at his assisted living facility, Mustang Creek Estates, in Keller, TX.

Ursel was born on October 6, 1934 in Rigby, ID to Ursel Smith Riggs and Elsie Evelyn Groom. Ursel married Jennie Ruth Andrew on January 29, 1959 in Provo, UT. Children are Brent Riggs (Colleen), residing in Golden, Colorado; Warren Riggs (Charyl), residing in St, George, Utah; and Bette Krynski (Mark) residing in Keller, Texas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

Ursel grew up on a farm in Garfield, in the Southeastern Idaho area. In 1955 he left home to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Alberta, Canada. He attended Rick's College and BYU. Employment included Argo Labs, Idaho State Police, University of California Riverside, University of Utah Salt Lake City, however his fondest memories are of serving as a Park Ranger in Yellowstone National Park. Ursel had a deep love for this area, and after Jennie passed away in 2003 he moved back to Lander, Wyoming and then Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He would often reminisce about his time spent and pleasant memories of his younger years in Yellowstone and the Grand Teton areas.

We pray that he is now at peace and enjoying a joyful reunion with those family members who preceded him in death.
