Van Smith, 61, passed away on October 30, 2014 in Bedford, Texas.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Van was born on October 5, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas to John William Smith and Mary Jane Duke. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. Van spent 22 years as a pilot for American Airlines before retiring to start his own businesses.
He was a loving husband and father of ten, who is survived by his wife of 28 years, Amy Smith; children, Vanna Smith, Van Mark Smith, Vianessa Smith, Varian Smith, Valence Smith, Valon Smith, Vivacia Smith, Vanson Smith, Vicar Smith and Vondrais Smith; mother, Mary Jane Duke; siblings, Milo Smith, Monta Smith, Todd Smith, Dihl Smith and Lloyd Smith; as well as many loving family members and friends.
