He died after a long courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Vance “aka” Papaw was an avid collector of baseball memorabilia.
He loved pie and the occasional chili cheese burger. He worked 42 and a 1/2 years at the Arlington General Motors plant and retired in 2006.
There he was fondly known as “Van the Man.”
Vance married his high school sweetheart Darlene, whom he enjoyed 59 wonderful years with.

Our family takes comfort knowing he had a personal relationship with the Lord and is now in heaven.

Survived by: Wife Darlene, Daughter and Son in law Angela and Don Miller,
Daughter Kathy Johnson; Siblings: Larry Johnson and Sue Ellen Johnson; Grandchildren- Amy Spencer and husband Nicolas Spencer, Nicholas Miller, Stephen Reeves and wife Anastasia, Rebecca Reeves;
Six great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by: Daughter Wendy Karen; Siblings Patricia, Rodney and Michael; Mother Mary Ellen and Father Fern.
