BEDFORD -- Velma Ann Permenter, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday at Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Colleyville. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas on Monday.
Mrs. Permenter, daughter of the late Henry C. Mallicote and the former Agatha Breaux, was born January 31, 1929 in Plaquemine, LA. She came to live with her Aunt Sissy in Fort Worth shortly after graduating high school to attend business school where she met and married N.B. (Sam) Permenter in 1948. They were married 52 years prior to his passing in November 2000.
Mrs. Permenter's children are thankful for a mother who considered it utmost important to provide her children with a faith foundation. She was a wonderful homemaker who maintained a 50+ year tradition of entertaining friends each day for coffee. She had impeccable style and fashion always color coordinated. She enjoyed singing in the church choir at Good Shepherd which was the highlight of her week.
Survivors: Survivors include two daughters, Kathi (Eddie) Cashion of NRH and Carol (Gary) Avrett of Euless, one son, Michael (Doris) Permenter of Roanoke, six grandchildren, Lindsay Gierisch, Shannon Proctor, Jason and Sarah Avrett, Lauren Kornely and Audrey Frost; and eight great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Addison Briley, Mason and Jesse Gierisch, Evangeline Kornely, Malachi,Noah and unborn baby Proctor due in December.
