With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vera Emily Cantwell, who peacefully departed this world on August 16, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 85. Born in Ipswich, Massachusetts to her loving parents, Arthur and Harriet Saunders, on March 11, 1939, Vera's journey began. She graduated from Ipswich High School in 1956 and began her career at the New England Telephone Company, where she worked as an operations assistant.
Vera was a devoted wife to SMSgt. Thomas Lee Cantwell, with whom she shared many adventures during his time in the Air Force, moving across various cities domestically and internationally. Together, they lovingly raised their two sons, Bret and Adam, enriching their lives with her caring and supportive nature. Vera's strength and resilience in navigating each new chapter of life was truly admirable.
Family was at the core of Vera's life, and she cherished her roles as a mother and grandmother. She leaves behind fond memories with her sons, Bret Cantwell and Adam Cantwell and his wife Melinda and her grandchild Gary. Her warm presence and love will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Vera will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of those who cherished her most.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at 2 pm, Friday, September 20, 2024, at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
