Vernon C Culps

Vernon Claud "Burnie" Culps 96 of Crowley Texas passed away peacefully at his home on December 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in Port Arthur Texas to Nona Delma and George Dewey Culps on January 18, 1925. Vernon served in WWII in the United States Army Air Core and worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years before retiring. He married the love of his life Patsy Jean Whitley on December 2, 1945. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing and shared the love of art with his wife. Both are accomplished artists with multiple awards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wallace Culps, and grandson Michael Culps. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 76 years Patsy, son Paul, daughter Cindy Hickman and husband David, grandchildren: Jason Graves and wife Bridgette, Jeremiah Graves and wife Jennifer, Heather Culps, Sean Culps, Kendall Cruz and husband Vaughn, and sister Elaine Hartman along with several great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday December 20, 2021 at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am December 21, 2021 at the DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Vernon's memory be made to the American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans charities.
