Vernon LeRoy Dede, 86, passed away December 25, 2015 at his home.
Vernon LeRoy Dede was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on December 26, 1928. He grew up in Lennox, South Dakota. He joined the military and advanced to Lieutenant Colonel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Test Engineer. Following his twenty-eight years in the service of our country he held several engineering positions. He concluded his career as an educator in the HEB School system. He was a graduate of the University of Lincoln in Kearney Nebraska. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Dede Wood. Left mourning his death is his wife of sixty-four years, Else Keller Dede. He is survived by his children; Diana Dede Heinle (Allan), Patricia Dede Larmon (Paul), Vernon Dede Jr (Mary), and Robert Dede (Deanna); seven grandchildren. If desired, memorials can be made to the Retired Officer Association Scholarship Fund or Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
