Vicki (Victoria) Lynn Hubbard was born on May 28, 1947 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Eleanor Margaret (Meyer) and Victor Z. Jaskolka. She passed away on July 29, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 74 years old.
Vicki grew up the second of three sisters and a brother, in a small 2-bedroom house in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She was raised Catholic and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. She graduated from New Castle High School. In 1967, Vicki graduated from Saint Francis Hospital of New Castle School of Nursing.
She served her country in the United States Navy in the Corps of Nurses. After leaving the Navy, Vicki spent over 40 years as Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse, taking care of the most vulnerable babies.
Vicki married Dennis Day in 1970 and they had one son, Michael Shawn Day in 1975. She remarried Cary Lavon Hubbard at Beale Air Force Base in Yuba County, California on October 26, 1978. They had two sons, Robert and Christopher.
She was very smart and loved to read, especially about history and life in the “olden days”. She loved to wear hats and enjoyed going to events, like plays and concerts, where she could dress up. She loved Coca-Cola, polish dill pickles, and chocolate. She really loved Christmas- there were no rooms in the house left undecorated, and Christmas music would fill the house as early as October. She loved sewing, arts and crafts, and making stained glass. She collected Lladro statues, decorative eggs, and Christmas villages. Spending time with her family was very important to her as well as caring and loving her dogs.
Vicki was preceded in death her husband, Cary Lavon Hubbard; and her parents, Eleanor Margaret Jaskolka and Victor Z. Jaskolka.
She is survived by her sons, Shawn Day and partner, Jonathan Sacro of Keller, Texas; Robert Hubbard, III and wife, Diana of Austin, Texas; and Christopher Hubbard and wife, Allie of Trophy Club, Texas; three grandchildren, Robert Hubbard, IV, Liam Hubbard, and Lorelei Hubbard.
