Vickie Kay Ferguson was born on June 12, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to the late Glennie Lee (Wright) Pyron and Quinton Opie Pyron. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 7, 2025, in Granbury, Texas at the age of 81.
Vickie was the life of the party and had music in her heart from an early age. She and her brother actually were the Sunlight Singers, a gospel group who loved to sing and entertain. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family when she was not working in administration within the oil and Gas industry. She also liked her time by herself and playing solitaire was one of her pastimes. She was former member of Lonesome Dove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel Dean Ferguson; siblings, Sonja Cleveland, Rita Pyron, and Lyndon Pyron.
Vickie is survived by her loving family: Son, Scott Parker and wife, Traci of Lindale, Texas; daughter, Shantel Smith and husband, Barry of Hurst, Texas; grandchildren, Zakkery Dubose and wife, Maegan; Orrin Parker, and Morgan Shivley and husband, Skyler; great-grandchildren, Noah, Logan, and Maylee; and brother, Ronnie Pyron and wife, Carolyn of Lindale, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Funeral Service will also be at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, with Mark Lucas Kelly officiating. Interment following at Lonesome Dove Cemetery in Southlake, Texas.
