Vickie Lanell Poling of Keller, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Baylor Hospital in Grapevine on January 24, 2022, at the age of 70. She was born June 24, 1951, to Ford and Clarice Newkirk in Roswell New Mexico. Vickie married Ted Poling on June 6, 1969, in Shamrock, Texas.
She was a believer in Jesus Christ who invested her time and energy into being a great wife and raising their three sons: fetching shot puts and javelins, holding make-shift tackling dummies, and cheering them on in all of their activities. She worked for many years as a teacher's assistant for Childress ISD and later for Carroll ISD, but her favorite job was being a part-time P.I. when Dad was investigating someone. She loved to sing, read, play the piano, garden, adopt cats, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a joy to be around, friendly to everyone, loved to laugh and make jokes at serious or awkward times, and was always positive and smiling. She will be greatly missed, but her family knows she is in the arms of Jesus now. We will one day see her again.
She is survived by her husband Ted Poling of Keller, Texas; sons Teddy Poling of Irving, Texas, Chad Poling and wife Rebekah of Argyle, Texas, Zach Poling and wife Ashley of Dorchester, Texas; grandchildren Haley Klimaszewski and husband Bernard of Grapevine, Texas, Kennady Poling of Rowlett, Texas, Abi, Eli, Caleb and Hudson Poling of Dorchester, Texas; great-grandchildren Abel and Lyric Klimaszewski of Grapevine, Texas; brother Daulton Newkirk of San Antonio, Texas; sisters Gwen Wicks of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Cheryl Rucker of Keller, Texas, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
If so desired, donations may be made to Christ's Haven, 4200 Keller Haslet Road, Keller, Texas 76244 or any flower of choice for Vickie's service.
