Victor Charles “Charlie” Burgess was born on February 26, 1993 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He passed away on March 11, 2021 in Grapevine, Texas at the age of 28 years old.
Charlie attended Colleyville Heritage High School. He truly loved the game of hockey and played at various levels since the age of 8. Some of his favorite times were playing with his friends in travel league.
Charlie had a wonderful sense of humor and was a lovable prankster often making himself the butt of jokes, so he could make people laugh. He loved to eat anything but olives and enjoyed playing chess, board games and video games. He was a huge fan of Harry Potter, Star Wars, science fiction and romance novels. And, he was actively involved in the CA program. He had deep affinity for the outdoors and enjoyed working with his tightly-knit crew at Highland Landscaping in Southlake.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia Burgess and uncle, Charles D. Burgess, Jr.; He is survived by his loving mother, Teri Burgess of Grapevine; adoring sister, Grace Burgess of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandfather, Dr. Charles “Duane” Burgess, Sr. of Columbia, Mississippi; aunts, Bonita Beckham and husband, Rick of Princeton, Texas; Zelma Magee and husband, Rob also of Columbia, Mississippi and Teri J. Burgess of Turlock, California; cousins, Paul, Chad, Sara, Jonathan, Rachel, Reid, Abby, and Joy; and a host of friends and coworkers that miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 19, 2021 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 20, 2022 also at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Masks will be required.
There will be time during the service for anyone that wants to share memories of Charlie.
