Vincent Corwin Ashwill Jr.

Vincent Corwin Ashwill, Jr. died on June 2, 2020 at the age of 74 surrounded by his family.
Vince was born on July 16, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri, to parents Vincent and Betty Moore Ashwill. When he was a child his family moved to Iowa where he lived until he graduated college. He went to Iowa State University where he was awarded a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Vince and his wife, Jean, met on a blind date while he was in college. They had a long-distance relationship throughout college and married the week after he graduated from college. He would hitch hike to see Jean on breaks and holidays.
Vince worked for Control Data after college. He was transferred to Fort Worth in 1968 and worked for them for 20 years. He next ventured into the travel industry where he remained until death.
Vince was known for his love of family, sense of humor and ability to analyze any situation. He is remembered being fun with nieces and nephews, his love of travel and flying and his quiet spirituality.
He is survived by his wife Regina “Jean” Ashwill; his children Vincent Ashwill III and his wife Cheray, Amy Eck and her husband John, Heidi Schoeneman and her husband Mark, nine grandchildren, Avery and Liam Ashwill; Emily, Thomas and Drew Eck; Patrick and Andrew Smith; and Katie and Charlie Schoeneman. Others who survive him are his brothers and sisters Sandy Ashwill, Teresa Denton, Russell Ashwill, Vickie Ashwill, and Debra Hicks. He is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and many close friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Community on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
