Virgie Mae Padgett passed away in Ridgeview Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Facility in Cleburne early Sunday morning, January 13th at the age of 82. She was predeceased by her husband, Dan Padgett; her parents, Homer and Ella Morales; and her sister Barbara Brown.
Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 17th at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, January 18th at 10:00 at funeral home with family and friends celebrating and honoring her fulfilling life. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery in Arlington, Texas.
Virgie was born in 1936 in Dallas, Texas. She attended school and lived in Grand Prairie until she met her soulmate. She married Dan, her husband of 60 years, on March 16, 1956 and later settled into their lifelong home in Bedford. Virgie worked 38 years for Bell Helicopter. Following her retirement in 1998, she was rehired as a consultant to help train others in Bell's accounts receivable department. She was involved in church and community service. She would go once a month to a local nursing home to play bingo and visit with the residents. She was president of the Hurst Jaycee Wives Club. She was involved in the Fort Worth Historical Society. Her love of reading made her a frequent visitor to the Bedford Public Library. Virgie's love of travel and family took her to many parts of the world. She will be greatly missed for her unique sense of humor and immense care for others.
Virgie is survived by her three children, Vickie Mihills and husband Glenn, Randy Padgett, Danna Tittle and husband John; her eight grandchildren, Ty Greene and wife Carli, Jennifer Stickles and husband Jim, Jevin Greene and wife Tami, Amy Dollar and husband Ryan, Megan Mihills, Alaina Padgett and Louie, Emily Padgett and Mitchell Padgett; fourteen great-grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt, Colton, Lane, Ally, Mattie, Garrett, Connor, Callie, Rylan, Ella, Landry, Olivia, and Louie and her best friend Flo Walton.
Pallbearers will be Ty Greene, Jevin Greene, Mitchell Padgett, Ryan Dollar, Jim Stickles, Wyatt Greene and Colton Dollar.
Memorials may be given to the Fisher Center For Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the charity of your choice.
