Virginia Mae Madewell

December 29, 1929 — September 7, 2021

Virginia Mae Madewell of Fort Worth, Texas went home to be with the Lord on September 7, 2021, at the age of 91. She was at her home surrounded by family. Virginia was born on December 29, 1929, in Fort Worth, Texas to Hubert B. and Eva May Brown. Virginia married her high school sweetheart, J.D. Madewell Sr., on July 11, 1947, and they were married for 70+ years prior to his passing.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cared for others. She loved going to church, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Virginia especially loved family gatherings to celebrate holidays. She would encourage both the children and adults to play “drop the clothes pins in the bottle” and “count the beans in the jar”. Virginia was an excellent cook also, and we all enjoyed the great food and pies she prepared. She almost always made a different pie or dessert for each person in the family. Virginia also had a great memory. She always remembered everyone’s birthday. She really knew how to make you feel special. She is truly a very special person.

Virginia is survived by her sister Ruby Wagenschutz of Mazon, Illinois; son J.D. Madewell Jr. and wife Ardis of Fort Worth, TX; granddaughter Tracy Shults, husband Billy and great granddaughter Audrey of Fort Worth TX; grandson Brad Madewell and wife Naomi, great grandsons, Corbin, Jonah, Lincoln, and Lennox and great granddaughter Audrina of Carrollton, TX; son Troy Madewell and wife Trisha of Benbrook, TX; grandson Clint Madewell and wife Tracy, great granddaughter Claire of Bedford, TX; and grandson Cody Madewell of Benbrook, TX; daughter Vicki Bahner of Fort Worth, TX; granddaughter Laura Moniger and husband Mike, great granddaughter Christina and great grandson Michael of Fort Worth, TX; grandson James Bahner Jr. and wife Angela, great grandson Michael and great granddaughter Alecia of North Richland Hills, TX; granddaughter Becky Gibson and husband Troy, great granddaughter Danielle and great grandson Micah of Fort Worth, TX; and grandson David Bahner of Bedford, TX; son Dana Madewell of Fort Worth, TX; grandson Jeremy Willms of Lewisville, TX and great granddaughter Evelyn of Kinston NC; granddaughter Jessica Kyrisch and husband Charles, great granddaughters Alexis and Amelia and great grandson Austin of Fort Worth, TX.
