Virginia was born in Percilla Texas on January 9, 1936. Virginia was married to Eddie Rutledge on October 3, 1954; they were married 46 years.
Virginia was a hairstylist upon graduation, leaving this career to spend the next twelve years as a dedicated home maker and mother of two. When she returned to work outside of the home, she spent many years at Rtec Instruments, where she began soldering circuitry inside small electrical components. She was promoted to supervisor, then to inspector. Virginia resigned from the workplace upon her husbands retirement in August 1985. During the 1990s Virginia and Eddy worked seasonally for Amusements Inc. at the state fair of Texas as a way to supplement traveling.
Virginia was active in her children's school life. She was a troop leader for both Bluebirds and Camp Fire Girls and was also actively involved in her son's Cub Scout troop. Virginia enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed being outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening. Virginia was always ready to travel, rather it was a short family weekend trip or after retirement, the more extensive trips she and her husband took in their motorhome, often away from home months at a time. More importantly Virginia loved family and friends.
