It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Skinner, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Virginia was born on October 6, 1943 in Topeka, Kansas to Irene and Ralph Edgerton, and departed from this world on April 19, 2024 in Watauga, Texas.

Virginia was a devoted member of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel and actively participated in the community through her attendance at Bethesda Community Church in Haltom City, Texas. She found joy in simple pleasures – tending to her garden, seamlessly sewing beautiful creations, baking delicious treats, and above all, cherishing moments with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Virginia married the love of her life, Jerry Skinner on June 2, 1963, marking the start of a lasting and deep bond that transcended time. Their journey was marked by love, companionship, and unwavering support for each other.

Having attended Lawrence Memorial High School in Kansas, Virginia later pursued her education at Mid Plains Community College, where she graduated, shaping her into the strong, intelligent, and caring individual she was known to be. Virginia was a medical records transcriptionist and a devoted pastor’s wife for over 35 years.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jerry A. Skinner; her eldest son, Marty Skinner and wife Lorie- and her grandchildren Dustin, wife Silvia, and her great-granddaughter Mia; granddaughter Lindsay Ward and husband Kaleb, and her great-granddaughter Joyce and great-grandson Jody and granddaughter Erica Skinner; daughter Melanie Ivey and husband Mitch, and her grandsons Kaleb, Jarred, Josh, and Kamran; daughter Deborah Sale and her granddaughters Kasee Keith and husband Doug, and her great grandsons Parker, Mason, and Daltyn; granddaughter Kendra Torres and husband Tylor and her great grandsons Tylor Junior "TJ", and Rudy; granddaughter Jordan Dobesh and husband Ivan, and her great grandson Silas and great granddaughter Maylah. Virginia is also survived by her two sisters, Ethel and Eleanor, and also by her brother, Ralph. She also leaves behind her three sisters-in-law, Joy Carlson, Janet Breithaupt and Judy Holyfield and husband Jim. There are also numerous nieces and nephews that will deeply miss Virginia's presence.
