Virginia Louise Wilson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024.
She was born in Jacksonville TX to Richard and Virginia Anderson on February 17, 1945. She graduated from Garland High School in 1963 then went on to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Texas and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant. After graduation, Louise became one of the first female banking officers at Continental National Bank. Then she went on to work in accounting, eventually becoming a partner at a Fort Worth CPA firm. She married her soul mate and fellow UNT graduate Steve Wilson in 1968. She had two daughters, Stephanie in 1972 and Jen in 1974. She always found time for raising and supporting her family as well as her career.
Louise’s true passions were her family and her love of Christmas. She loved spending time with her husband, her sisters, her extended family, her two daughters and definitely her grandchildren: Nathan, Hannah, John, Jaidyn and Elizabeth. She always had her pocket calendar handy to block off time to spend with the grandkids. Christmas was by far her favorite holiday, and she made it special for her whole family. She was known by all for her extensive collection of Santa Clauses and her love of Christmas décor.
She was preceded in death by her father Richard Anderson, her mother Virginia Anderson and stepmother Jean Anderson.
Louise is survived by her husband of 56 years, Steve Wilson. Her daughters, Stephanie Powell and Jen Graybiel. Her sons in love, Brian Powell and Matt Graybiel. And of course, her grandchildren: Nathan Powell, Hannah Powell, Jaidyn Powell, John Graybiel, and Elizabeth Graybiel. She is also survived by her sisters, Richie Merck and Vickie Dungan.
