Walter Byron

March 14, 1946 — June 30, 2013

FORT WORTH -- Walter Byron Box passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with heart disease Sunday, June 30, 2013. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Byron graduated from Carter-Riverside High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. He went on to work for the Union Pacific Railroad as a yard conductor and retired after 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, shuffleboard and reading. Bryon was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Ernest Box. Survivors: Wife, Sandra Box; daughters, Amy Erwin and Elizabeth Wilson and her husband, Curtis; sister, Bettye Davis and her husband, Joe; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
