Walter Bell Decker, 81, passed away January 16, 2022 at Community Hospice Center in Fort Worth. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, January 24, 2022 at Bethesda Baptist Church, 100 West Bethesda Road in Burleson, with visitation an hour prior to the service.
Walter was born December, 21st, 1940 in Burleson to Walter H. and Iva Moore Decker. He grew up in Burleson and graduated from Burleson High School in 1959. After high school he, attended barber school in Fort Worth where he received a Texas Barber’s license. He also obtained a Texas State Board of Plumbing examiners License, a Texas commission on environmental quality license, and a license in on site sewer facility (OSF) class II. He began working for himself, under Walter Decker Backhoe service, as a plumber and septic installer. He retired in 2014 after 50 years of dedication.
Walter was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, restoring tractors, and spending quality time with close friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. and Iva Moore Decker and Sherri Decker Marin.
Walter is survived by his son, Mark Decker, of Burleson; daughter, Kelly Mason and husband, Larry of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Whitni Skinner and husband, Johnathon Skinner, Logan Decker, and Bailee Decker; and great-grandchild, Newt Skinner.
