He moved with his family to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1983, and he graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1993. His life was one of service to others and compassion for the weak. He was an Eagle Scout and he served a two year mission in the New York, New York South mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He received a BS degree from Northern Arizona University in construction management. After graduation he was employed in various positions with the Kiewit Corporation. He was employed most recently by Northgate Constructors, a part of that corporation in the DFW area. As a family we applaud their great generosity and we are extremely grateful for all they have provided for our family at this difficult time. They have filled our hardest days with miracles. He is survived by the love of his life, Heather Dawn Massey Hopkins; son, Garrison Bates Hopkins; daughters, Rachel Judith Hopkins, Kimberly Rose Hopkins, and Natalie Dawn Hopkins; parents, Walter G. "Hoppy" Hopkins and Rosemary Bishop Hopkins; sisters, Melissa (Chris) Hochrine, Cassandra (Michael) Schupp; and extended families and friends. He was so proud of his wife and children and found great joy in the things they said and did. He could make all of us laugh as he had a great sense of humor. We will always miss his bright smile, infectious laugh and his unceasing respect and kindness to others. He was a true disciple of Christ in his life and carried the image of Christ in his countenance.
