January 25, 1936 — October 15, 2023

Walter Patrick Hudgins, resident of Burleson, Texas passed away on October 15, 2023 at the age of 87.

Pat was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas January 25, 1936. He attended Carter-Riverside High School and the University of Texas at Arlington for 1 year. Pat worked at Lone Star Gas Company for 40 years. He started as a meter reader and advanced to Service Technician, then to Service Specialist. He ended his career at Lone Star Gas as a Superintendent and retired from Lone Star in 1995. He and his wife then started their own business, “Hudgins Heating, Cooling & Plumbing” and retired after operating the business for 23 years at 82 years of age.

Pat met his wife Ann at Lone Star Gas Company where they both worked. They were married on June 22, 1984. Pat was a positive, up-beat person who never complained. He was a very thoughtful compassionate person who was both generous and always willing to help family and friends. Pat loved operating and working the business he and Ann started. His employees were all his friends and relatives, including his grandson, Patrick, step-son, Jeff, and step-daughter, Cheryl.

The other love of his life was his yard and garden alone with traveling, especially the ocean cruises with his sisters and family. He also enjoyed his and Ann’s travels in Europe, Australia, Mexico, and even a river cruise in Russia. Pat loved his family and enjoyed taking many trips to the beach, mountains, and snow skiing with them.

He is survived by his daughters, Susie McFarland and husband, Jack, and Patti Hudgins, his step-son, Jeff Spector and wife DeAnn, his step-daughter, Cheryl Spector and husband, Jeff Rosensweig, his grandchildren, Patrick Boaz and wife Brandi, Garret McFarland and wife Jessica, Chasie Noble and husband Micah, and Hannah Hudgins, his step-grandchildren, Mariah Rosensweig, and Carmi Rosensweig, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother Katherine Rucker Hudgins, his father Frank Samson Hudgins, his brothers Jack Hudgins, Sam Hudgins, and sisters, Jennie McAulay, Billie Harrison, and Anne Cornwell.
