On Thursday, September 26th, 2019 at 9:58 pm, Lee Wanda Cheek, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away at the age of 88. Wanda was born July 19th, 1931 in Lamesa, Texas, to Walter and Martha (Madry) Pruiett.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Sister, JoAnn, Sonny, LC, and Junior. She is survived by siblings Ila B, Della Mae, Luddie, Jewel Lavon, and Earnest.
She was joined in holy matrimony with George Robert Bush, Sr. for 22 years. To this union 10 children were born. Wanda was preceded in death by her son Leonard, and is survived by children Joyce, Judy, Sherry & Jerry (twins), Janie & Jimmie (twins), Bob, Donnie & Ronnie (twins), and many grand- and great grandchildren.
In 1974 Wanda accept the marriage proposal of her beloved Clyde Cheek, and they enjoyed 23 years of loving partnership.
Wanda had a passion for the Word of God and accepted Christ at an early age; she was a devout believer in the Church of Christ denomination. Wanda was known for her kind, generous spirit and her love for her family.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1st, 2019 at the Lucas Funeral Home on Wall Street in Grapevine, Texas, at 10 o’clock a.m, followed by a funeral service at 11 o’clock a.m. Flowers or donations may be sent to 700 West Wall Street, Grapevine, Texas.
