Wanda Koontz

Wanda Watson Koontz was born on January 30, 1946, in Dumas, Texas, to Ruby Florence Watson and Fred Watson. She passed away on January 11, 2016. Mrs. Koontz was the youngest of her family. She attended schools in the Texas Panhandle and also completed cosmetology school. Mrs. Koontz married Ernest Koontz, a young Airman in the United States Air Force, in Amarillo, Texas, on July 3, 1965. They were blessed to share 50 years of marriage and enjoyed many motorcycle adventures with their riding club, The Blue Knights, over the years.

Mrs. Koontz is survived by her husband, Ernest, her daughter, LaNetta Addy, son-in-law, Carlton Addy, and granddaughter, Shelby Addy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016, in the Chapel of Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine, Texas, with burial to follow at 1:15 PM in the DFW National Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home an hour prior to services for those wishing to offer condolences. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Children’s Education Program at the Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass Performance Hall or a charity of your choice.
