EULESS -- Warner L. Muirhead, 79, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Interment: will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
Warner was born June 18, 1936, to the late James and Georgia Muirhead. He grew up in Waxahachie and attended Texas State University in Arlington, where he was a member of the Guard before proudly serving in the Air National Guard. He married Kathryn Sprinkle on April 14, 1956, and he and Kathryn moved to Euless in 1964. They joined First United Methodist Church of Euless on Oct. 20, 1968, were he has served ever since and was a member of the Harmony Sunday School Class.
Warner's most joy came from seeing and talking about his grandchildren. He loved to support them in soccer, baseball, football, golf, cheer and all other events in which they participated. Up until his last days, his spirit was always lifted when they walked through the door.
Warner was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Georgia Muirhead; wife of 38 years, Roy Kathryn Sprinkle Muirhead; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Geneva Sprinkle; and brothers-in-law, James Petty and Joe Edward Sprinkle.
Survivors: Warner was survived by by daughter, Debbie LaPenna and husband, Bob; grandchildren, Lana Hubble and husband, Joey, Bobby LaPenna and wife, Katie and Chase LaPenna and Fiance, Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Cody, Taylor, Brooklyn, Ruth and Rebekah; brother, Robbie Muirhead and wife, Martha; sister-in-law, Marva Jean Petty; and nephews, Jay, Joe, Rob, Rodney, and their families.
