Warren Lee Hewitt, 88, of Burleson, passed away Monday, November 4, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Hallmark Baptist Church, 4201 West Risinger Road, Ft. Worth, Tx. 76123. Dan Ashley will officiate. Burial and Military Honors will be offered at 2:30 PM at Dallas - Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Tx. Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lucas & Blessing Funeral Home, 518 S.W. Johnson Ave., Burleson, Tx. 76028. Warren L. (Willie) Hewitt was born February 17, 1931 in LaCygne, Kansas to Herman Levi and Marjorie Faye (Bartles) Hewitt. After graduating from high school, he joined the army and was stationed at West Point New York and where he served as a medic. Afterwards, he attended a technical school and married his wife, Emma ( Garrison) Hewitt. Together they moved to Ft. Worth, were he went to work for Lockheed Martin. He worked as an engineer there until he retired 38 years later. During his retirement years he enjoyed gardening, square dancing, and playing cards. He was very social and enjoyed being surrounded by people. Willie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma; his sister, Marion Kunkel; grandson, Philip Ashley; great-grandson, Waylon Eller. Willie is survived by his daughters, Brenda Mathews (Mike), Linda Ashley (Dan), and Cheryl Payne (Brian); grandchildren, Rachael Upchurch (Jason), Carrie Mathews, Aaron Mathews, Cayci Payne, and Hayden Payne; six great-grandchildren.
