Waymon Jose Reed of Richland Hill, Texas, formerly of Kansas, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 13, 2015, in North Richland Hills, Texas.
Waymon was a certified auto tech. He also taught auto mechanics at Kansas High School. Waymon served many years on the Kansas Town Council, and as mayor for part of his tenure. He was a retired volunteer firefighter and served on the Board of Education for Kansas Public Schools. Waymon was a devoted Christian, pastor, husband, father and friend. He enjoyed fishing, racing, Rangers baseball and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Reed; children, Erica Poteet and husband Rodney, Kara Trimble and husband James, Bobby Reed and wife Amber; three grandchildren, Mariah Poteet, Caden Trimble and Shayne Trimble; brother, Eric Reed and wife Carol; sister Robbin Pickup and husband Rick; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by Virgil and Anita Reed, his parents; and Verna Reed, the mother of his children Erica and Bobby.
Memorial Service will be Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Assembly of God Church, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, with Pastors Howard Moss and Gary Wheat officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hunger and Thirst Ministries, Route 2, Box 1146, Watts Ok 74964.
