HURST -- Wayne C. Lee, 83, of Hurst went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 19, 2013.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Fort Worth. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Sunday at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Hereford. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, should family or friends desire, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Fort Worth's Youth Camp Fund.
Wayne was born in Littlefield on April 28, 1930. He was a farmer and worked for Pioneer Seed Company in Plainview. He later retired and moved to Hurst, where he married his current wife, Dorothy. They just celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary. Wayne was a beloved member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Worth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 43 years, Naoma Lee; his parents, John Carl and Inez Lee; and his stepdaughter, Cindy Cowan.
Survivors: His wife, Dorothy Cowan Lee of Hurst; his children, Terry Lee of Killeen, Connie Ash of Spring, Kay Culwell of Amarillo and Danny Lee and wife, Gwynda, of Killeen; stepchildren, Mike Cowan and wife, Gail, of Grapevine, Brenda Taylor and husband, Jimmy, of Watauga, Jean Gardner of North Richland Hills and Steve Cowan and wife, Judy, of Hurst. He is also survived by five grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
Wayne was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
