William Keyes Forney went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2022 after a long illness. Will was born in Abington, PA on September 2, 1998 and soon after moved with his family to San Antonio, TX. The family later moved to Gwynedd Valley, PA, and then to Southlake, TX, where Will was in the Carroll ISD schools from second through eighth grade. He attended Ft. Worth Christian School in ninth grade, where he played linebacker on the JV football team and quarterback on the freshman team. He completed his high school education at Fusion Academy in Southlake, TX. He then attended the University of Texas at Dallas. He loved sports, particularly golf, tennis, and playing pickup basketball, football, or soccer with his three brothers. Some of the Forney brothers’ favorite memories were from playing sports with each other (the teams always being Will & Sumner vs. Preston & Jack). Will was thoughtful, intellectual, a good listener, very quick witted, and enjoyed having long conversations about a variety of topics. Will became a Christian at Pine Cove Christian Camp, saying excitedly afterward that it was the best day of his life.
Will is survived by his parents, Kayanne and Matt Forney of Southlake, TX, his brothers Sumner, Jack, and Preston Forney, his grandmother, Peggy Sumner of Dallas, TX, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Sumner of Dallas and his grandfather and grandmother Charles and Joyce Forney of Corpus Christi.
Memorials may be made to Pine Cove Christian Camp or to Southlake Baptist Church.
