BEDFORD -- Willa M. Hill passed away at her home in Bedford on June 8, 2016.
Memorial service: A memorial celebrating Willa's almost 100 years of beautiful life will be held on her birthday, August 16, 2016.
Willa was born in Cisco, Texas August 16, 1916 to Almer and Martha Frances McMillan Lockhart. After graduation from high school in Cisco, she married Willard C. Hill and moved to Odessa where they raised two daughters. Willa was a master seamstress and artist, but her proudest achievement was that of devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She adored her family and found fulfilment in being actively involved in their lives. Willa was unique in the fact that she was always willing to change with the times and up until her very last days she was interested in what was going on in the world around her. She often spoke of going to church with her father and being baptized in the river at Pleasant Hill.
A special thank you to her care takers at Parc Place, Kisha, Shawntell, Connie, Joyce and Sang.
Willa was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters (Nina Hastings and Ruby Nell Doff), her grandson C.O. (CO) Wheeler, and her great granddaughter Lana Seree Wheeler.
Survivors: She is survived by her daughters, Sherlene Wheeler (Pete) of Lubbock and Claudia Sue Meeks (Steve) of Bedford; granddaughter, Cynthia Ann Skendrovic; great grandkids, C.O. (Rooster) Wheeler, IV (Tarah), Skyler Skendrovic and Ashton Brooks; and great-great grandson, Korbin Blaze Brooks.
