Willard Clay Tyler, 89, a loving husband, father, and Poppy, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2022 with his wife Florine by his side.
Willard was born January 5, 1933 in Wagoner, Oklahoma the son of Webster and Tisha Tyler. He graduated from Pryor High School in 1951 and went to work at Miami Hotel. Willard attended Miami Business College where he began his lifelong career in hotel management. Willard married the love of his life Florine Whitcomb on December 24, 1951 in Welch, Oklahoma and making their home in Miami, Oklahoma. His career took them to many different cities and states, finally residing in North Richland Hills, Texas. Willard reluctantly retired in 2020 due to his failing health.
Willard was happiest surrounded by his family and will be dearly missed. He attended all his grandchildren and great grandchildren's events.
When his health started to fail Willard continued to stay in touch with his past employees at Country Inn and Suites. He loved spending time walking with his daughters around Walker Creek Park, Green Valley Park and Cross Timbers, always wearing his beloved Texas Rangers hat. Willard was an avid Rangers and Cowboys fan. He enjoyed watching the games with his son-in-law, Toby.
Those left to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 66 1/2 years, Florine; children, Theresa Tyler, Pam Runnels and her husband, Toby, Gregg Tyler and his wife, Stevanna, and Vicki Tyler; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many friends and adopted family members.
