William "Bill" Richard Bennett

William "Bill" R. Bennett, 74, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, April 12, 2016, surrounded by his loving family in his home.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Sunday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.

Bill was born and raised in Detroit, Mich. After graduation Bill spent his earlier years working for General Motors, after which he served honorably for 24 years in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the military Bill worked for several corporations in Dayton, Ohio, Little Rock, Ark., and then landing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area where he retired from L3 Communications.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Duguid Bennett; father, Richard Harold Bennett; his beloved wife of 25 years, Jorene May Conley Bennett; and son-in-law, Paul Holste.
Survivors: Bill is survived by his sister, Marjorie Ann McMeeking and husband, Robin; daughter, Susan Patricia (Bennett) Holste; sons, Paul Richard Bennett and wife, Tjawanna, Michael Edward Bennett and wife, Carol, James Scott Bennett and wife, Dana, and Steven Patrick Bennett; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
