William “Bill” Charles Korte, 74, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his home.
Bill was born on July 5, 1941 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Howard and Ethel Korte. On June 10, 1967, he married his wife of 49 years, Christine Korte (Caldwell). Bill had a zest for life that was exhibited in his varied pursuits. He had such talents as singing in a quartet. He would take his children to the dirt tracks often and even drove stock cars where he garnered the name “Wild Bill Korte.” Later in life he drove 18 wheelers hauling a variety of products. And who could forget his love of the donut shops where he was known to visit often and he loved to take his granddaughter. Bill is loved by his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Christine Korte of Kerrville, TX, his daughter, Cheryl Johnson of Center Point, TX, his two sons, Rex Smith of Shiloh, IL and Danny Caudill of Ft. Worth, TX, his granddaughter, Rebecca Johnson of San Marcos, TX, his grandsons, Shane Smith of Shiloh, IL and Richie Smith of Topeka KS, his brother, James Korte of Lithia, FL, his sister, Sharon Dockins of O'fallon, IL, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ethel Korte and his son, James Smith.
Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX on Friday, June 17th.
Funeral services for Bill will be held on Saturday, June 18th at 1:00P at the Lucas Funeral Home Chapel.
