William "Bill" Osborn Reeves

November 24, 1925 — September 3, 2023

William (Bill) Osborn Reeves, born November 24,1925 in Fort Worth (Birdville), Texas. Bill passed away on September 3, 2023 at the age of 97.

Bill was the beloved husband of Roberta Reeves, and devoted father/father inlaw to Gary Reeves and his wife Judith, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his son, David Mark Reeves (1964).

Bill graduated from Birdville High School in 1943 with honors. Enlisted, and served, in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 aboard the aircraft carrier Bunker Hill (CV-17). Bill married Roberta in February of 1949, then graduated from Texas Christian University with an accounting degree in 1953. He worked for Standard Oil/Amoco in Fort Worth,Tx/Denver CO. until retirement: 1956-1989.

He was an avid golfer and one of the inaugural members of Diamond Oaks Country Club. His dachshunds Willie, Max and Fritz provided many years of love and companionship. Bill volunteered his time at the Birdville Cemetery Association and was an avid local historian. He and Roberta were tenured members of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Haltom City where they made many life-long friends.

Besides golf, with his steadfast buddies, Bill loved all things TCU and avidly followed the Dallas Cowboys. He was a Master Mason in good standing of Haltom-Riverside 1331 for almost 60 years.

He was a kind and generous man who loved his family, country and friends deeply. He will be remembered for his spirit, patriotism and keen sense of humor. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
