William Kent Breaux

June 9, 1948 — February 6, 2020

William “Kent” Breaux, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Burleson, Texas. Kent was born on June 9, 1948 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to John “Valsin” Breaux and Mary “Hazel” Mires. He graduated from Vinton High School in 1966 with good grades, a few detentions and many wonderful friends and memories.

He was an iron worker for 20 years. He then spent the next 16 years with Longhorn Dodge and retired in 2005.

Kent was married Carolyn LeBlanc in 1968 and they had 3 perfect angels, Jonel, Kim and Laurie. While the two did not stay married they did take pride in those perfect angels. Ask anyone, especially the girls.

Kent enjoyed spending time with his family and cooking out. He also loved to fish, read and play chess.

Kent was a very giving, caring, funny, sweet, ornery, stubborn and soft-hearted man. Kent would give anyone the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it more than him. He never turned away from someone who needed help. He celebrated his 30th year of sobriety on June 30th, 2019. His favorite prayer was the Serenity Prayer.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.

He was very competitive when playing video games, right Bubba J Panty Waist Bo Bo and Noah?

Kent is proceeded in death by his parents as well as his infant sister, Rose Marie. He is survived by his daughters, Jonel Parraz (Thomas), Kimberly Earp (Daryl) and Laurie Breaux; his grandchildren Noah Parraz, age 14, and Keeli Beebe, age 3; his siblings Johnny Breaux, Gloria Manuel (Ted), Cathy Richardson (Steve) and Swinford Breaux (Roxanne);many nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Kent loved his daughters and grandkids fiercely, possibly even to the point of spoiling them. There is nothing he would not do for his girls or his grandbabies.

See You Later, Alligator…..
