William Knight Cook, an architect and builder, passed away on May 18, 2024. Born on February 17, 1948, in San Diego, California, Bill was known for his passion for gardening, fitness, singing in church choirs, playing the piano, leading worship, remodeling, and helping friends and neighbors with home improvement projects. He graduated from Escondido High School and the University of Southern California before marrying the love of his life, Janet Elaine Bishop, on March 21, 1970.
Bill worked to design and build many structures in the Santa Cruz and Bakersfield areas of California, and consistently volunteered in the music department at church. Bill and Jan relocated to the Sierra Nevada town of Twain Harte, where he also served as a church administrator. They moved to Keller, Texas, in 2009.
Bill's life was marked by his commitment to serving others; he volunteered in the church and dedicated himself to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Janet, and their three children, Aaron, Kathryn (Kenneth), and Christopher (Alissa), and four grandchildren, James, Rebecca, Samuel, and Benjamin.
A man of many talents and interests, Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him. Bill will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith in the face of challenges.
