On March 24, 2019, we lost a special man, William Hood Dorsey. Bill was a man of great principles and strength to all who knew him. He had the ability to make everyone feel special and could tell a joke like no one else. Bill's confidence and personality drew many to him and always made an impression.
Bill was a very accomplished and successful businessman. He devoted his career to Petroleum Engineering following in the footsteps of his father and role model, Russell. Personally, Bill bled maroon and white. His experience at Texas A & M, being a part of the class of '57 and Head Yell Leader, set the foundation for the remainder of his life. He made lifelong friends and had a strong commitment to the Aggie Spirit.
Bill was a fightin' Texas Aggie whose spirit can ne'er be told. Class of 57' Whoop!
Above all, family was Bill's greatest joy. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a doting grandfather/great grandfather also known as Gin Gin. Bill is survived by his wife, Jenny, his daughters and son in law, Beth, Peggy, Jenny and Greg. His grandson and namesake William McKnight Gibson, Noelle and their children Victoria Rose and Robert McKnight. His brother Donald Dorsey. Also many nieces, nephews, and in-laws whom he loved and adored.
A memorial will be held on March 29 at 11 AM at the Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Texas A & M Association of former students
