WILLIAM HOWARD HIGGINBOTHAM

May 30, 1935 — February 3, 2025

North Richland Hills

William (Bill), a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and esteemed veteran, went to be with his lord, at the age of 89 on February 3, 2025 at home with his wife by his side.

Born to Robert G. Higginbotham and Suzy Evalee Johnson, Bill was the proud member of a large family, growing up with five brothers and five sisters. His close-knit upbringing instilled in him the values of hard work, loyalty, and compassion that he carried throughout his life.

Bill was married to his beloved wife, LaFon Kiesling for almost 67 years, a partnership that exemplified love and devotion. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond was a cornerstone for their family, which included three sons: Mike Higginbotham, Richard Higginbotham, Gary Higginbotham, and a baby daughter (deceased). Bill was a proud father, always encouraging his sons to pursue their dreams and instilling in them the importance of integrity and resilience.

As a grandfather to six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Bill’s heart was filled with pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with them, sharing stories, laughter, and life lessons that will resonate through generations.

He also leaves many loving family members and friends.

A distinguished veteran, Bill served honorably in the United States Air Force, dedicating himself for 20 years to protecting his country with courage and honor. Following his military career, he continued his service to the community as a valued employee of the City of Fort Worth, where he retired after many years of dedicated work.

Bill had a remarkable ability to connect with people and make them feel special. His warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments but also for the love and light he brought into every room.

A celebration of Bill's extraordinary life will take place on February 12th, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in his honor.

Bill H. Higginbotham leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and dedication. He will be deeply missed but will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear husband, father, and friend.
