William Thomas “Tom” Ivy
OCEAN SPRINGS, MS--William Thomas “Tom” Ivy, 88, died peacefully on January 7, 2020, in Ocean Springs, MS, with his devoted daughter, Mary Ann, by his side. After the 2019 death of his wife Frankie, he spent several months being cared for by his younger sister Jeanette Davis and her children in Oklahoma City before moving to Mississippi to be cared for by Mary Ann and her husband Rich Westfall, with the assistance of the staff at The Gardens Senior Living and Notre Dame Hospice of New Orleans. Tom had been a resident of Arlington, TX, from 1964-1982, when he moved to Hurst where he and Frankie lived until 2017.

Survivors include his daughters Patricia Wilborn (Paul), Mary Ann Westfall (Rich), Jane Martin, grandchildren Jennifer Schnaubert (Brad), Lindsay Martin, Andrew Westfall (Amber), Ashley Danko (Chris), Katherine Rocco (Nick), step-grandson Trevor Kent, and great grandchildren Landon and Jack Westfall, Aidan Martin, and Jaedyn, Sienna and Rylee Danko. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Jeanette Davis of Oklahoma City and her children Teresa Smith, Tom Davis (Mary) and Sharon Tanner (Jon) as well as numerous other relatives.

Tom was preceded in death by his first wife Sherry Williams Ivy, his second wife Frankie Kent Ivy, parents Morris and Creta M. Ivy, older sisters Ann Lorenzen and Helen Dunigan and his grandson Thomas Wilborn.
Although Tom had several career positions in his life, he was most satisfied with and proud of his service in the United States Army Reserve, from which he retired in 1991 with the rank of Captain. He had a lifelong love of making things and tinkering with machinery and turned his interest to woodworking after retirement. He taught himself the art of intarsia which he created in his wonderful woodworking shop while living in Hurst.
The family would like to express our sincerest appreciation to Tom’s sister Jeanette who opened her home to her brother at a moment’s notice upon the death of his wife, as well as Jeanette’s children who assisted her in providing for all his needs until he moved to Mississippi.

A funeral service will be at 11 am January 17, Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053, with interment at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington immediately afterward.
