On Saturday, November 6th, 2021, Bobby McKnight went home to be with Jesus. Bobby was surrounded by his three favorite people, his children, for several days and hours before and during his passing on. They say he fought a good fight. They say it was surreal.
Bobby was born August 13, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas to Henry Burns Brooks & Georgemma Rominger Brooks McKnight. The family settled down, making Mansfield their home and that is where he graduated Mansfield high school in 1967. Following graduation, Bobby briefly attended Tarrant County Junior College, only to discover his passion for music and he soon followed his heart pursuing a life as a musician and following his heart down the aisle to marry Nancy Darlene Harmon on August 29th, 1970. During these busy years, he was also called to serve his country for two years. He was honorably discharged in late 1971.
Anyone who knew Bobby, knew he was the definition of a “jack of all trades” and could fix or do almost any project put in front of him! The same would be said the people who knew him, knew that music was his life. He played several instruments, taking to playing, singing and harmonizing with ease and grace. Bobby is survived by his children, Cain (Genevieve), Brent and his wife Tiffany, and Harmony (Andy); grandchildren, Grace, Tayvin, Caden and Jedai; sister, Lucy (George); nephew, Stan; niece, Misty, and many more loving family and friends.
The Memorial service will be held at Lucas Funeral Home-Grapevine on Saturday, December 4th at 2:00pm.
