William Gene Nichols

As a Beloved Monticello and Logansport resident, William (Bill or Nick) Nichols of Monticello, Indiana, passed away on August 31, 2023, surrounded by his family in Texas. Bill was born in Logansport, Indiana on August 11, 1938. His parents were the late David "Wiley" Nichols and Myrtle Wilfong Brown (Frank).
He was a 1956 graduate of Logansport High School.
Bill married the love of his life, Melodie Ann Murray, on August 25, 1957, in Miami, Indiana. They moved to Southern California where they raised their three children.
A selfless Father, Grandfather, and Friend; always doing for others and putting his family first. He made a lasting impression on not just his children but all of his grandchildren with his constant love and encouragement to be the best person you can be and enjoy the little things in life. If you knew him, you wouldn't forget his sweet smile and giving heart.
Bill is survived by his children, William Kevin Nichols of Keller, TX, Kelly Jo Galea (John) of San Clemente, CA, and Kristi Ann Schweizer (Wayne) of Keller, TX.
Also surviving are grandchildren Hanna Marie Nichols, Skyler Evan Alvord (Crystal), Holland Teresa Nichols, Hunter Wolff Schweizer, Evalynne Emery Alvord, Savannah Leigh Schweizer, Sydney Faith Schweizer, William Christian Nichols, and Summer Grace Schweizer; and great granddaughter Finnley Coast Alvord.
Bill is proceeded in death by his wife Melodie Nichols, his parents Wiley Nichols and Myrtle Brown (Frank), brothers David and Edward Nichols, and daughter-in-law Deborah Nichols.

Graveside services will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034, on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Brad Stroetz of LifeSong Church (Monticello) officiating.
