William "Rocky" Ruel Roper, Jr., went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
Rocky served our country in the US Navy where he competed and conquered the ring as a Golden Gloves boxer, In the early 80’s he became a police officer for the Haltom City Police Department, where he worked his way through the ranks of different departments as follows; SWAT, Task Force, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain where he retired after 32 years.
Rocky was known for his bravery, leadership, and unwavering commitment. He was an Officers’ officer and thrived in the community he served. Rocky was a loving husband, father and Pop who cherished his family above all else. He was a role model to his children and a mentor to many. Rocky will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive visitation on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 6:00-8:00pm at Lucas Hurst Chapel |1321 Precinct Line Road,
Hurst, Texas 76053].
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 10:30 at Northwood Church
1870 Rufe Snow Drive, Keller, Texas 76248), with the Graveside Service, at 1:30pm at the Garvin Cemetery [County Road 4690, Boyd, Texas 76023].
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janiece Roper; his daughter, BJ Roper and husband, Casey; his stepson, Jeremy Goodger and wife, Cathy; his stepson, Blaine Willbanks; his stepdaughter, Whitney Willbanks Erwin, and husband, Ryan; his stepdaughter, Marianne Wienecke and husband, Arick; 11 grandchildren; Ian, Ollie, Jacob, Jenna, Lorna, Sandy, Jack, Lexi, Savannah, Raeleigh and Gus. 2 great grandchildren Caiden and Hallie. Sisters; Cindy Lamance and husband Harry, Bonnie Jaramillo and husband Anthony, Doll Van Schuyver and husband Lonnie.
Rocky is preceded in death by, his father William Ruel Roper Sr., his mother Billie Nell Roper, his sister Kimberly Roper, niece Kimberly Vanschuyver and nephew Rusty Jaramillo
