Ft. Worth, TX – Wilma Ruth Loftus, born Jan. 9, 1927, a resident of North Richland Hills, TX, died Tuesday, the 15th of November at Emerald Hills Rehab and Healthcare Center. She was 89 years old.
Born Jan. 9, 1927 in Smithfield, OH, Wilma was a graduate of Smithfield High School. Wilma worked for the Wheeling Steel Corporation, was a member of the Teamsters Union, worked as a butcher and ended her career as a representative for the Estee Lauder fragrance company at Stone & Thomas. A longtime resident of Tiltonsville, OH, Wilma was an active member of St. Joseph Parish.
Wilma loved music, the arts, and good food – particularly baked goods. Wilma had a wonderful smile and enjoyed socializing; she had a zest for life and loved her family. Wilma was preceded in death by Hugh A. Loftus, Jr. (Feb. 1999) her husband of 49 years. She is survived by her three children, Lora Machkovech, Dallas, TX, Peggy Cappelletti, Ft. Worth, TX and Lindsey (and daughter-in-law, Sheryl) Loftus, Uniontown, OH, her eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and her schnauzer, Beau.
There will be no formal service. Wilma will be placed at Holly Memorial Gardens, 73360 Pleasant Grove Road, Colerain, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the NEOMED Foundation, Office of Palliative Care, 4209 St. Rt. 44, Rootstown, OH 44272 in memory of Wilma R. Loftus.
