Wingo Ray Brown

Wingo "Ray" Brown, of Keller, Texas passed away June 7, 2023 in Grapevine, Texas. He was born August 7,1934 in Plainview, Texas to Rosa and Wingo Brown.

Ray graduated from Plainview High School and then attended Lippert's Business College. He then worked at the Bob Watson CPA Firm in Tulia, Texas where he met his future bride Faye Marie Brown. Ray entered the Army on June 2,1957 and worked as an Accounting and Administrative Specialist. During his Army service, he married Faye Marie Brown on October 11, 1959. Both Ray and Faye would go on to attend Wayland Baptist University where Ray studied accounting. Together, Ray and Faye would open their own accounting firm in Plainview, TX. In 1970, they were blessed with their first child Linda, and then relocated to Dallas TX., where Ray went to work for the IRS. They had their second child James in 1972. Ray continued to work and began attending Dallas Baptist University working on his MBA while also teaching accounting courses. In 1979, their third child Christy was born and completed the family.

Ray bought land in Missouri where he enjoyed a tree farm he worked and managed. He also took annual deer hunting trips. Ray and Faye faithfully attended First Baptist Dallas. Ray served as a Member of Keller City Council and enjoyed being a member of the Planning and Zoning committee. Ray thoroughly enjoyed his annual birthdays celebrations where family, friends, and beloved neighbor's would feast outside on the patio in the sweltering August temperatures.

Ray was preceded in death by his his beloved wife of 63 years of marriage, Faye Marie Brown, and grand-daughter, Betsi Marie Wyatt

Ray is survived by his daughter, Linda and her husband Luke Schmille and their children, Cami Ray Wyatt, Eli Ramsey Wyatt and Alexis and Savannah Schmille; his son, James Ray Brown and Michelle and children; Faye Elizabeth Schmille, Eryn Brown, Nathaniel Vines, and Brianna Howard; and by his youngest daughter Christy Faye Brown.
