Worley Lee Stewart, 69, of Justin, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was born on September 29, 1949, in Pittsburg, Texas, to Elmer and Faye Stewart.
Worley is survived by his wife, Beverly of 36 years. Sons Jeff Stewart, Sr. and Scott (Kim) Stewart, daughter Cheryl Stewart, grandson Jeff Stewart Jr., granddaughters Emory and Lucille Stewart. Sisters Shirley Sprabary and Janet (Jack) Sprabary. Nieces and nephews Cindy Ballenger, Sherri Jones, Lisa Hargrove, Kim Mulford, Randy Sprabary, Bobby Sprabary, Tommy Wood, Kelley Thompson, many great-nieces/nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Faye and Elmer Stewart of Little Elm, TX, his sister Peggy Wood of Mesquite, TX, and his brother Wayne Stewart of Seven Points, TX.
After serving in the Vietnam War, he went to work for Roadway Express where he retired after 33 years.
Worley loved sports, especially baseball and football, where his favorite teams were the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He loved to grill and cook Pittsburg Hot Links, fish, and spend time watching his grandson play various sports. Worley also loved spending several days a week playing Peek-a Boo and Hide and Seek with his granddaughters. He enjoyed listening to Elvis and attending Elvis Impersonator Shows as well as watching old westerns. Worley was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects or with whatever people needed him for. He was a true family man who loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 2, and funeral services on Wednesday, April 3, at 10:00 AM. Worley will be laid to rest at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Veterans’ Association of your choice.
Worley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He will be missed.
