Zachary Alan Clark

February 22, 1994 — July 10, 2015

Zachary Alan Clark was born February 22, 1994 to Barry and Kathy Clark at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Zach joined Cub Scouts in first grade and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 16. He had a love for the performing arts, during High School he performed in plays and musicals. He had a passion for literature and writing.

He graduated High School in 2012 from Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville and was accepted to the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. During his sophomore year he spent a semester in Rome and took every opportunity to spend weekends in different countries. This time in Rome deepened an already strong catholic faith.

Zach was a well-known student at the University of Dallas where he studied Human Sciences in the Contemporary World. He was known on campus for his bright blue Mustang, his love of Starbucks, and his late night trips to iHop. Active in student government, Rotaract and campus ministry, he was passionate about all that he did. Writing was one of his many gifts. He enjoyed journalism and contributed many articles to The University News. He spent the summer of 2014 interning with Fox News in New York City on the Fox and Friends show. Writing and helping to produce many of his research articles.

As a rising Senior at The University of Dallas, Zachary Alan Clark, 21, passed from this life into the arms of heaven July 10, 2015 as a result of a car accident. He had just come home to spend a week with his family over the 4th of July. During this week he spent much time with family and friends. He left home on the morning of the 10th on his way back to Minnesota, where he was working as a Totus Tuus (Latin for “totally thine”) Ministry missionary. The ministry is devoted to evangelization, and he was spending his summer as a college counselor in youth ministry. Zach hoped to one day become a therapist or counselor for struggling young adults.

While driving through Kansas, his Mustang hydroplaned and ran off the road into a flooded ditch during a heavy rainstorm and flash flooding. He tried to escape the vehicle but was unable.

To those who knew him best, Zach’s legacy will be one of constant generosity. A busy man, he made sure the people around him were happy and encouraged them to slow down and enjoy life for just a moment. He was a listener and a thinker. All that he did, he did with joy. He would take friends to iHop at all hours of the night, enjoy a concert or play with anyone who could go, and offer Starbucks to a friend, saying “it’s on me.” Whether in class or at the campus mall, he could almost always be seen with a smile on his face. His enthusiasm for life was remarkable.

Funeral Mass: 11am, Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Keller. Burial: Bourland Cemetery, Keller. Visitation: 6-8pm Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, Keller.
