Zion Davon Purvis, age 25, born December 31, 1998, in Waterloo, Iowa to his mother Janelda Dudley and father Grant Purvis. He lived a life that celebrated love, dedication, and service.
Zion, a cherished member of the United States Army, honed his strength both in the gym, which he loved, and in the service of his country. His dedication to his craft and his camaraderie with fellow servicemen embodied his commitment to country and community.
Zion's contagious passion for life was evident in his hobbies, from weightlifting to the thrill of fantasy football. His love for gaming, especially 2K, his appreciation for good food and fast cars, all testified to his zest for life and adventure. Always there for his loved ones, Zion’s exuberance and generous spirit will be remembered fondly.
Zion is survived by his mother, Janelda Dudley; sisters, Dominique Johnson and Lauryn Dudley; brothers, Darius Purvis and Malik Purvis; maternal grandmother, Aretha Davids and numerous aunts, uncles and extended family honored for their love and support. Rodney and Jan Allred and many friends, cousins, and best good girlfriends that became his family.
Preceded in death by his father, Grant Purvis; paternal grandparents; maternal grandfather and maternal great grandparents.
Though he will be greatly missed, Zion’s memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Wake will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1601 South Main Street, Keller, Texas 76248. Celebration of Life for Zion will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Milestone Church, 201 Mount Gilead Road, Keller, Texas 76248.
